bungee cords

I am about to replace another set of bungee cords on my L-2. The last set only lasted two years. I was looking at aircraft spruce and they show a set for l-2's and D series. They are two different sizes. The l-2 is 3/4" longer...

Anyone know why? I would like to get a set of stiffer bungee cords, what are YOU using in your L-2?

If your serial number is 4200 or higher you should use 11104. Your landing gear front tubes should be 1.5 inches in diameter.

That is the deal with the tube sizes. My SN is 4137, but that is just on the throttle handle who know what the gear is.

Exactly , you have to check the shock struts that are on YOUR airplane. There has been a lot of changing around out there. The choices are 1192 & 11104 , then we have the few and the brave that use the 1110 or a combination. I have pictures on the the other computer. Must bring them tot he house someday. I have three calls into Superior ( SBC) ; probably fouled that up I mentioned Taylorcraft......

I'm running 11104's on my L-2M and there is no suspension whatsoever on the plane -- i.e. the bungees are so tight that there is zero movement. The gear struts are correct for my plane and have the correct amount of travel -- 5.5 inches, IIRC.

With the ship empty and new cords you can rock it abck and forth and the gear will not spread ( or even move) . Give it time, lower pressure in tires.

I hope to put it on the gear in the next 2 months.
It sounds like I order 4 11104's. correct?
Where is the best place to get them?

Do you install with the same tool as a BC12D?
If not, what is the procedure?
