  • L2M Cowling

    L2M Owners & Rebuilders,

I'm currently rebuilding an L2M for customer. The nose bowl is in sad shape. I contacted a small one man company that is providing me a quote for new fabrication.

Question? Are there any of you out there that would be interested in a new cowl? I have not found any new/old stock and no current aftermarket manuf.

    Let me know.

Jamie this is Mike Redpath. There is nothing out there. I have several cowls but they are all in rough shape. I think in the blue prints there is a profile print that could be used to build a buck. Also if you need any parts I have a lot with exception to struts and cowling.

Hello Mike, I would bet all that are in service are rough. Going to have a buck made. Ok on struts and cowling, just the nose section.

Yes, I'm working with Rob. He has all the L2M cowl and F-24G cowl for rework.

              All,

I have contracted with Wings Over Dixie ( http://wingsoverdixie.net/home ) to develop the MDF buck for the L2M enclosed cowl. If your in need of a new two piece nose bowl you can go to Rob Palmer direct.

Send me an email at [email protected] any time.

I spoke with Rob. After the buck is done, he stated would probably take at least 30 hrs on a complete new cowl with skins, maybe $2k-2500

Probably too late now but this guy is a fantastic metal worker and makes items for all sorts of older aircraft. I have several pieces of his work. Info on this link: http://vb.taylorcraft.org/showthread...light=wenglarz

I may be interested, as well. I have a glass nose bowl -- which is in decent shape -- but would prefer to have metal.

Tried some of the "wings over Dixie" links but none appear to be working -- both net and Facebook

Any update on the nosebowl/cowling project? I sent Rob the drawings that I had but never heard back
