    Jerry,

I checked the Taylorcraft Service Manual & Owner's Manual. Neither of them give any specification to adjust the cable tension. AC 43.13 says to use the manufacturer's specifications. But that is hard to do with a Taylorcraft when there is no factory. From what I have heard, the tendancy is to over tighten control cables most of the time. I know the aileron cables in my plane look loose, but they never seem to slip on the pulleys, so they must be tight enough. Maybe one of the I/A guys will chime in with info on the technique they use.

I think we just tighten them tight enough, and no tighter. I know on mine if they are too tight you can really feel it, but I haven't found anything saying what the tension "should" be.

Do a search on aileron adjustment. Forrest, a few years ago said to make the tension so they drooped about a 1/4" at rest. They would be in perfect alignment while in flight but no so tight as to add force required to move. Another words not very tight.
