Question...does the BC-12-D (1945) have an indicator for the trim position? Is it required equipment? Was it standard equipment? ie. does it need to be there now? My plane has the trim built into the elevator (not the little fin under it), with a standard Piper-like rotating handle above.

    Thanks

Thank you so much for the reply, and sorry for the delay of this reply. You're plane looks beautiful! We found an indicator and it is installed, which makes my IA very happy. I must say that I am not sure that it was necessary. I rarely need to move the trim, and even if it was out of trim unknowingly, it is certainly easy to overpower and then correct. The T-craft is indeed just a pleasure to fly.

        Re: Elevator Trim

I haven't seen one with a trim indicator. I've flown two different BC-12's, one I own and one I trained on. Neither have a trim indicator. Neither did the Champ I flew. Perhaps they get tossed aside when replacing the head-liner?
