    Do these fit on a BC12D from '46? Would $500 be a good deal or just a so so deal? You still need the hydraulic puck masher assembly correct? Isn't there something about the tapered axel too? Can a guy put 8:50s on the Shinns or would the Clevelands just be a better upgrade for the bigger tires.

    I ran 850's on shins for 500 hours, not enough brake to stop or do a runup. I went to c-150 mccauley single pucks and Cleveland master cylinders and I have another 500 hours on them. best money is a hydraulic brake conversion you will need an axle adapter from grove. Tim

      Skyboltone go to the teck sec and open my post there titled Grove brake conversion it has photos and all my paper work to put duel puck grove calipers and 600/6 wheels I used scott heal brake master cylinders this is THE BEST THING I HAVE DONE TO MY PLANE IT STOPS WHEN YOU WANT IT TO!!!!! with 26/12.50/6 ak bush tires cost was about $1700.00 the way i did it scott masters are priced all over the map I got mine off ebay for $280 witch is cheep groves parts were $1280 at the time I did the change also the whole change only weighs 6lbs more then the shinns Chuck

        Another opinion.....I ran 850's on my properly adjusted Shinns for over nearly 50 hours. I could do a full run-up and stop as needed. No issues.
