I need to start making my list! I have a 45 to rebuild as soon as I get the 41 back in the air.

The STC does not address adding the spark plug blisters to the top portion of the cowl. It only changes the rear edge that contacts the boot cowl. And that is only if you go with the longer engine mount. Basically you scab a 4" extension onto the rear edge.

If you really wanted to convert back to the original engine mount, you could drill out the rivets used to hold the extension on and weld up the holes. It would be a little work, but it could be done.

My personal preference is for horsepower.....Horsepower! If two BC12D's were sitting side by side, both well done inside and out, one with a 65hp, the other with a 90hp or 0200, I'd grab the higher horsepower in a minute! Its alot more fun to fly and SAFER! The restorer SHOULD sell the 65hp in a crate so you have the best of both worlds. I had a 40 Ford coupe when young, perfectly restored as stock, (not chopped and F---ed up!) Many coats of black laquer and chrome redone. The flathead was in a crate, that went with it, under the hood was an engine, redone, from an 88 olds with dual exhaust. It was stellar! If you've flown a 150 Citabria, or a Super cub, or a Maule, the 65 HP T-Craft is sort of a drag. A very nice little airplane to be sure, but sort of like watching paint dry, or....on an 85-95 degree day, on a short strip with obstacles, it can be VERY exciting! JC
