Curious what tailwheel everyone is using

Curious what tailwheel everyone is using. Previously I had been flying a Cessna 140A with a Scott 2000. First time out in the new F21B it felt really sluggish, and I was attributing it to the the Scott 3200. I plan on flying it more (after the fuel tank is repaired) before passing judgement, but wondered how many of you were using solid tailwheels vs. pneumatic tailwheels. Especially you F19 and F21 owners.

I have a pneumatic-tire Maul on my '41 taylorcraft and it's great. My'46 model has a solid-tire Maul. Mine was wearing sideways. I trued it up by triming the thickness in half. Mounted the wheel on a piece of plywood and spun it around a bandsaw blade. Trued it with a belt sander. Eliminated a lot of weight and works fine.

Note: a reply to me mentioned another tailwheel wearing sideways was caused by a crack in the plate that the tailsprings are bolted into. Very good idea to check frequently. Very difficult area to inspect.

My F21B has the Maule Tundra tailwheel. The gentleman who checked me out said it was very effective. The A/P at my current base says it would make a Cessna 180 proud. I don't have other experience in T/W to compare, but it seems to be authoritative. It is pnuematic.

I have used a Scott 3200 for the last 900 hrs. Or about 2000 take offs and landings. I love it. The foundation has a copy of the 337.

The Scott 3200 is the Cadillac (or BMW or Mercedes or Lexus or, well, you get the idea...) of tailwheels. If you don't think it's the best tailwheel you've ever tried, then you're doing something wrong. And I'm not opinionated...

Tire Pressue?

Seems like quite a few of you are using the Scott 3200. I guess I'll give myself some time to get used to it once the bird is flyable again.

What pressure are you guys using the 3200 using in the tailwheel / mains?

Maule 6" solid.

Lasts for ever. Needs lub at about 200 hour intervals.

Never goes flat!

I run 20-24 psi in my 3200 on a BC12D. I must admit sometimes it's a tad lower. At around 15 psi it starts to look pretty soft.

Oh, and between 20-24 psi in the mains. Just depends how high I want to bounce.
