    Senior,

If you think it would help, I can trace the wood around my doors and mail it to you. Let me know.

In viewing the photos of your skylight wood, I am curious about how you plan to bend the Lexan/Plexiglass at the corners. It appears your wood pieces have a curve going fore & aft, and also laterally. Will you have to heat the plastic to get it make a compound bend?

Appreciate the offer but I am working on fitting the incorrect aluminum door frames (possible F-21) I got with the plane. With a single 1/2" shim it fit not bad & will be much sturdier.
The pics make the header look much higher than it actually is?? You can see the original bracket for the trim guage & the new header is only 1/2 or so higher where it used to be flush. I will sand the centre of header down for a tighter fit where the Lexan clears the X brace in the cabin centre. A friend that has done a few of these before assures me the Lexan is quite flexable...we'll see

I will post results when it's done.

        Omit Blue River material!
Poly Brush will not satisfactorily permiate it!

          Re: Rebuild of 46 BC12D #8406

Here's where I am now (July 26) for anybody that's interested or thought I had died

All feathers & elevators finished with Poly system to paint.

Wings in real nice shape to start with

          Around fuel tank

          Covered & instaling Martin Clips.
1st time useing them, they instal real quick, make sure holes thru fabric are big enough or you'll have a real tough time pushing them in. In all about an hr does one side. Another thing I learned for those of you may be in the process is MAKE SURE the ribs are perfectly straight otherwise...you put tapes on perfectly straight but if rib wonders off even a 1/4" when your Martin Clips go in, they with not line up with the centre of the tapes & if you follow the clips with covering tape the tapes will not be straight.

          Completed

My good bud is handy at spraying...another coat & on to silver

              Re: Rebuild of 46 BC12D #8406

2nd wing finished & moved into my storage shed.

              Right next to 1st one.

              And moving frame into shop.
I took next week off work to get an initial push to get it done.

Spent rest of today disassembling engine.
As I had hoped with only 1150hrs on it, every thing is standard sized & in good shape, just a lot of MESSY work to clean out 31 yrs of jellied oil that it was pickled in.

End of 1st week I took of to work on plane, maybe starting to get a little burnt out so took sat off.

                Stringers being installed.

One of my helpers entertaining my grandson who brought me lunch one day.

With only 1150 hrs since new on motor I expected it to be in good shape.

All back together with new rings, valves lapped, gaskets etc

Been a while since up date.
                          Moved to hanger at runway.

Just couple little things like the Tach to finish.
