The rubbery cast & pretzel yokes were done with a dipping process; they of
course cannot be painted. Then for cost cutting, the cast yokes were merely
primed and painted. The Feris F-19's used the painted ones , I have them
all here for samples. WE then used Power coat 2000 to do some powder coated
ones and they almost have the feel of the dipped ones...I have pictures here
is a powder coated one they go for $55.00 the NOS plain ones are now
$15.00 they were $5.00 at one time.... Supply & demand u know...
copied to the list for reference... bye Forrest

    Forrest,

Just a little curious about these yokes you describe; are these NOS ones
from original? If so I didn't know they could be coated or painted. Mine
are OS and in good shape but hardly N.

The handles seem to have a black coating similar to vinyl or a similar
rubbery plastic layer that's soft to the touch like insulation. I'd
thought about changing the color but didn't figure paint would stay on a
rubbery surface without cracking. Nu-Vinyl did work well enough though.

Can you tell me about this? I paid the "going rate", and it sure wasn't
    $15!

    They're from a BC-12D-85. I can send pics.

Missing is the banjo , I have one here somewhere; not for sale. These are to show folks what they have. Some 45-46 ships used the “pretzel” for lack of a better name. My 43533 had that one. The cast ones are all over usually about 10-20 dollars , the banos got way high,,, forrest

Does anyone know where I could find a set of Banjo control yokes for my 46 BC12D? I currently have the Forged yokes on my airplane and would trade or sell my set for a set of the Banjo yokes. I just recently aquired my Taylorcraft so I'm not sure if the yokes were randomly placed on the planes or if the Banjo yokes were placed on certain models. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

        Hi Forrest

Can you tell me if the yokes you show in post #1 are still available? Need a pair if available. I'd take the NOS un powder coated ones. Thanks

Roger: If you do get them powder coated, make sure the coaters know that they are magnesium...these need heat-soaking for many hours first, to get rid of gases inside the casting, to prevent the gases coming out of the metal during the coating/heating process.

Very good to know, thank you for that Robert. If I can get these I will pass it on.

I'm in contact with Preferred Airparts. They need a part number for the control yokes. Anyone know the part number for the yokes in post #1?
