Is there a control cable fairing to cover the hole from the elevator to the trim tab? This would cover the rod.

No there is not.I plan to put an inspection plate of some kind in crispy critter on the bottom of the elevator so I can later get into the trim components without uncovering the elevator.....but with so little clearance in there I'm just not sure how I'm going to do it yet.Any ideas from anyone????

      Howdy Kieth,

No, there was not, to my knowledge, any fairing for the control rod comming from the elevator. When I recovered N39203, I made a fairing from fiberglass cloth and installed it in the elevator for the trim rod. Crispy is right about an inspection plate for the jack screw. I didn't think far enough ahead when I recovered N39203(which is typical for me!). An inspection plate would be a a VERY GOOD IDEA. In addition, I would also install inspection plates just below the mounting points for the horz stab. so that you can get to the nuts.

      Hope that this helps.
      Best Regards

I put two on the underside of mine Photo here

One to lube the mechanism (and in particular the threads of the jackscrew) and the other to get to the bellcrank mechanism.

Be sure to install the bellcrank bolts the correct way for maximum clearance for the inspection plate. The bolts will still rub on the underside of the top cloth. I glued a large square of very thin aluminum to the cloth to keep the bolts from wearing through.
