Re: Metal spars
Just a note here. Back in early 2000 I was asked to do some work on a BCD-12 (46) in Leesburg FL I worked on fuel lines in fuselage. Wings were in a rack near by. looking for dimensions for the fuel line location I uncovered the wing root and was shocked to see aluminum spars? I called Bruce Bixler (sp).(now passed) at that time he was the Pres of the Foundation. asked him if he had heard of alum spars on bc-12D's His answer was there was an order from a Canadian broker who wanted several airplanes if they would build them with alum spars, and they did. I have no other proof of this! There is a BC12-d for sale in FL at this time and they need information on authorization!
