  • Model A wing construction

I am starting the restoration of my Taylor Mod A ser#124 N19104.
I have gotten the wings ready down to the last rib and wing tip bow.
The wing tip bows are unusable, someone sawed off the forward ends,
but good enough for a pattern. The outboard rib is wood and basically complete. What I need to know is how the wing tip bow is attached to the rib. Anyone have any detailed pictures of their Model A restoration of this transition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Paul

Are you still working on Aircraft? We have a Model A, #270. Can we talk, have questions, yikes! Thanks

Feel free to call me at anytime. I just laid the wings out to start the restoration. I am going to need lots of help and pictures.

Are all the ribs wood? My 41 was aluminum ribs and a 40 I worked on was also aluminum. I have a mold to make prewar leading edge tips from fiberglass if you are not so worried about originality. I had a bow somewhere, its made from 1/2" .035 tubing...Tim
