Is there a way to change your sign-in name without having to reregister as a different person? Can two accounts be merged?

Jerry: only the site administrator can do that (Bob Ollerton)...let him say if he will agree.

Of course, there aren't many folk on here that we don't know...I always know Selje as Jerry, Victor Bravo as Bill, 41Tcraft as Paul, mulwyk as Bob, Yellow Duck as Lee, so compared with most "Anonymous" forums, I think we are all on real name terms anyway...

Just for you interest, and if you feel inclined to look at a "real" anonymous forum, try www.pprune.org..

..and then realise how un-anonymous we are.

Bless you for agreeing, I will sort you all out best that I can now that I can do this web thing in the evenings at home. Don't all rush out and change things, I HAD to re register tonight on this new machine, whew I forgot my password but the screen name Forrest Barber was easy

for instance I found out that Grant Bailey has the best set of pictures I have ever seen of his 19 restoration. I really did not who he was till last night. Rob Lees does a great job too , and many others have contributed quite a bit too!!! Jon Timlin are you out there! I finally have looked about 50% of the stuff over last night and this evening.

The registered "handle" stays with the account. Handles are meant to be unique and easy to remember. All postings and activities are recorded and idexed by that handle. Meaning you can't change it, the database administrator can.

I think I could force a change on a case by case basis if you wanted.

Two accounts can be merged in terms of taking posts you made under each handle and merging them to show they now came from one handle. This is a one time thing. Again thats on a case by case basis, depending on how much sleep I have had the night before.

The best thing to do would be to go to the User CP menu after you login and to update your Profile and Signature information with meaningful but not necessarly confidential information about yourself. You can click on other members names in their postings to get some ideas of what you can do here.

The point is if you intend to engage in some discussions or offer technical information/advice it would be good if the reader knew where it was coming from. Thus the idea of having a publically viewable profile/signature.

I am learning to use the public profile and getting to know folks; I find it a bit difficult to remember folks unless I have arrested them or they owe me money ... things are looking up again in NE Ohio , better than the Eastern seaboard... carry on Bob Ollerton, someday I will reveal the CB "skip" handle that I used back in the late 50's & early 60's. It was a beaut...

I don't believe it is worth the effort to change the signin name or handle.

Jerry: it probably is worth it.
The Taylorcraft Foundation internet site was the first site where I originally signed up using my real name.

I'm on about six other aviation sites too, and slowly-by-gently on these sites, I switch from my "handle" to my real name as I get used to the site modus operandi.

To switch usernames, the site owner does it, and they can also merge usernames too, in order to merge the postings of two or more "users" who are in fact the same person.

One of the nice things about this Taylorcraft internet forum is that the great majority who use a "handle
