Well, after about 3 months of part time work, my first L2 wing is completely repaired and rebuilt. Every single part was disassembled. Aluminum parts were bead blasted, etched, alcolined , and primed with epoxy primer. Most of the ribs were serviceable with some minor repairs. I had to polish out some of the corrosion on the spars. All of the steel parts were rusted. They were sand blasted, chemically treated, and then primed. The leading edge pieces were beyond salvageable so I made new ones. That was a more difficult job than I thought. New control cables and bearings. I'm still waiting for my order of rod ends. I have not yet installed the gas tanks, but I have mounted the wing to the fuselage to check the fit.
The second picture is the second wing. Lots of corrosion and rust. This one should go faster. I already have most of it apart.
