Anyone have an F19 on Edo 1400's? I know there are some out there, and I need a copy of someone's field approval 337 so I can start the process of getting approval for my F19. Measurements for the strut lengths would be very nice also... thanx

Re: F19 on Edo 1400
For strut dimensions and possibly other info regarding the F-19/EDO 1400 combination try Eddie Peck @ http://peckaero.ca
Early EDO 1400's were produced without bottom hydro-booster scallops like they installed on 2000's. Without them the 1400's are sticky on the step. EDO recognized the loss of performance over the 1320's and later added the boosters as a retro kit or installed at the factory. Ask Eddie about this if your 1400's don't have them or other modifications he recommends.

Re: F19 on Edo 1400
I earlier missed that you're in Fairbanks...same here and have the Taylorcraft at the north end of Intl float pond. I've got 1320's, but there were two parked next to me for a couple of years that had 1400's installed but may not have been F-19's. The owner of both (Tim Malone) worked as a mechanic for Wrights and lived in North Pole. You might try to look him up for info. Also George Hobson at Chena Marina (ask around) has T-Crafts and may know of one with 1400's.

Re: F19 on Edo 1400
Hi Dano...I know those floats and almost bought them for my former PA-11 but went a different route with a set from Wasilla. They came from McGrath I believe. Nice set that you could either re-rig with T fittings in exchange with Eddie (he sometimes does that...ask) or as you suggest just sell.
Aqua 1500, Baumann 1500, and PK 1800 are STC'd for the F-19. All work; the Baumann are the best; there was a F-19 (Yellow-Chena Marina) on PK's some years ago. I have no experience with Aqua's just seen'em fly.
Unless you can find a F-19 with 1400's, get the 337 from the plane's FAA records, and use it successfully as substantiation, I'd not go down that road unless you like to watch the grass grow while the FAA's Alaskan engineering group ponders your request.
Probably won't get to the fly-ins as this is the time of year to do home maintenance so I can play with my Harley and fish at my cabin later.
Good luck,
