Re: BC12d being rebuilt in Souht Africa

I have actual mufflers, now if I only had an interior, I would be warm on a cool day. Tim

That is actually a hot air intake with internal "shut off valve"
Here in South Africa we rarely if ever need to heat up the cockpit, quite the oposite!

Nothing more fun than flying my L-18c with the door open on a hot summer's afernoon :-)

I can understand Kevin's thing with heat in Kansas. With a lot of hi temp silecone sealing the heat muff you can almost feel a wee bit of heat out of the heater, maybe.

Theuns, I'll trade a little of this for a little of your heat...! Dick

No Dick, we here in Southern Africa "don't do cold" LOL!
I know as soon as it gets close to 0 deg C I am not a happy camper having to work in a hanger. The summer of about 35-38deg C on averidge with an elevation at the field of 5580' AMSL makes for some interesting flying when the plane's designed max alt is only a few ' off the ground with the dencity alt LOL

I look at programs of you guys in the US and Alaska and can not even think of living in such cold myself.......no, give me the heat and the dust :-)
