F-19 Rigging

I just had my struts passed and am now in the process or rigging them back on.
The only question I have is how to determine that the airframe is level laterally? I have no problem with the setting of the wash out but want to be assured that the horizontal stabs are adjusted at right angles to the fuselage. I don't trust the vertical stab enlightenment.

I rebuilt this aircraft some 8 years ago and used the rear overhead cross member that runs between the rear spar attach clusters. I now have a skylight and ferrings covering the cross member and am wondering if there is another easy accessible method. I have tried a lazer to the front gear bolts but it doesn't look right.

I think I read somewhere on this forum that some use the seat back cross tube.
I built mine so it folds down so I used the front spar carry thru. Some of the other cross tubes might work too.

Thanks Pete,
I tried the cross member under the seat (forward) and as I say it doesn't match what my razer level is saying, on the front gear bolts.
Something may be twisted so I'll try the seat back cross member today.

These airplanes were built to tolerances of 1/8 in. duhhhh they will measure different at different places . The approved longitudinal leveling is a level on the stabs near the attach fittings. the lateral level is the cross tube behind the seat. HOWEVER I merely put the tail up level, stretch a string across the front spar from tip to tip and level that string letting air in or out of the tires, make sure the gear is up against the bumpers. ( rock it up) . Then check the tail surfaces for square to the wings. Hunker down ( an old Ohio term) at the rear and sight with one eye that the tail is level to the wings , yes the wings go up a bit see that they interesect at the same point. Adjust tail wires to give level stabs and vertical fin.

This is exactly what I was looking for.
Unfortunately I'm 5 hours away from Alliance so can't make it down right now but hope to drop in again next summer.
