  • BC-12-D, A-75 exhaust

Having wrestled the one pc exhaust out for repair and than back in place. Thinking of replacement with either SS or possibly a two pc. Do not like the idea of flanges under the heat muff. Is is practical to try for 19 style separate exhaust for ea side?? Any ideas, Thanks John

F-19 exhaust won't fit the short mount. Luscombe individual stacks work perfect. The right stack comes out the original hole, and all you need to do is cut a hole in the left side. Don't have a 337, but have seen it done many times.

Two piece would be nice; BUT I can still unhook and remove engine in 30-45 mins. back on in 45 - 60 mins. lets me do a real nice cleaning job. Sometimes I replace the engine rubber mounts., clean and paint, numerous things can be checked..... Luscombe or Aeronca makes it sound like same!

Hmm, Forrest, took us longer, outside in the sunshine mid 30,s without a lift. Still have to finish muff installation. Hadnt thought of the sound diff. Will have to make a decision as exit end has been replaced prior to our ownership, now with patch on #1 cyl exhaust, only time until all will need replacement. I want to have replacement exhaust on hand before needed. Thanks all,John

Got to have a lift, tripod , tree , rope , something! Move the airplane back and forth if nothing else, keep it level with something under tail, pick-up truck, wheel barrow, burro , whatever! I have done it in the cold too!

Forrest, picking up the tail would have really helped. Funny how you do not think of these things. Anyway this is club owned plane and one of members has a Luscombe, will look at its exhaust. As my shoulders are feeling better may just go for the one pc SS as now have better idea on how to "get her done" Thanks everyone, John

A luscombe 8E exhaust system fits great- only have to cut 1 hole for the additional exhaust- the one on the right side exits the stock location.

Had to remove exhaust again, used Forrests advice, lifted tail, worked better, still not in his ball park as far as time spent. Anyone have any paper work, or advise regarding Luscume two pc. exhaust? Thanks all John
