  • Lycoming engine and magneto removal

I am removing engine from aircraft after close to 60 years. I am concerned about removing magnetos and whether there is anything to watch out for in their removal from engine and storage. Is there anything to look out for in removal of the magnetos and storage? This is a O145 B Lycoming with Bendix mags, one containing an impulse magneto.

Just pull them off, nothing special.

Put a piece of lightly oiled paper between the points. This will keep the corrosion and oxidation to a minimum. Store them in a cool dry area.
