Single/Centerline Seat

The new thread about "Trick T Cart" got me thinking about the seat. I'm planning on going single seat with my project & I know that the Cole airplane used a Stearman seat. What other options/set ups have been used?

p.s. The Stearman crowd would probably send a lynch mob if I used one now, it's my understanding that they're getting pretty scarce.

The Ritchie clip "T" has an aluminum bucket seat from something, but I don't think it's Stearman. I would think a seat from a sprint car, or stock car would work if you can figure out how to mount it. Tom

Tom, I've been toying with the sprint car seat idea - don't know if I want to plaster big numbers & Budweiser logos all over the airplane though.

I'm also afraid it would only roll to the left......

My Swick -T uses fiberglass seats with a steel tube frame and I can have a single seat or two seat within minutes. I can take some pictures tonight and post them. They work pretty good with a chair type parachute.

Photos would be great Mike, that sounds like the hot setup.

Here are some pictures of the seat in my airplane. I use some large spring clips to fasten the seat to the welded tabs. The tabs are evenly spaced do the left seat will fit in the middle position to fly center stick.
