Hi Dick, You seem to be the man with an answer for me. I have a 1942 T-craft DCO-65 L-2 With a mfg. serial number of 4641 that I am restoring. After reading all posts and attached documents that I can find on this site (and others including the Smithsonian)) I am still unable to establish what the "tail number" was from the military so I can include it with the restoration. I am also unable to find any stamped numbers on the fuselage (yet).
One of your posts: " Re: Repainted L-2b (8-15-2008)
Tom, nice work. To add to the authenticity your radio call letters on the tail should be 236018 (6 inch) and the lettering on the boot cowl should be on the left side only. Also your ship was ordered as an O-57A and was redesignated as a L-2A not L-2B. Dick "
Can you advise me as to what the tail number should be with the information I have given you? Thanks, Gary
