I bought my F21A for the wings to go on an experimental J4 but when I went to pick them up the owner said why not buy the rest of the plane. After looking it over I felt it was in too good of condition to scrap it. The price was right and now its close to being airworthy and better than the factory build.
The F21A was flipped over in a river and when the helicopter took it out they bent the two front tubes. The frame was about 1/8 inch out of spec. I cut the tubes out and the frame popped back to spec! That just confirmed my thought that it was too good to scrap. Had it sold twice during covid but they didnt come and get it so I decided I would restore it myself. Glad I did since it is amazing how well its built and has an 0235 for power. Both wings are completely rebuilt and are being covered, however, I cannot paint them until spring.
