I am looking forward to recieving the book. I did obtain copies of the original business filings for Taylor Brothers Aircraft from the Mnroe county Clerks office.

So far I have been unable to find anything on Arrowing.

I have been interested in auto, marine and aviation engines made in Rochester, NY for a while. I have the start of a small collection. As I was researching the engines I started to learn more about the the cars, boats and airplanes that they went in. Like anything, one thing leads to another :-)

Probably the most famous rochester engine was the Elbridge. Clyde Cessna used one in an eary Silverwing.

As Forrest says, there is a bit of information in THE TAYLORCRAFT STORY, most of it excerpted from the Rochester newspapers of 1927-28. Also, Robert Taylor has a 16 MM film of the Chummy's first flight, that also shows local dignitaries, etc.
Someone should get this and copy it on a CD.

Does anyone know the exact date of the crash that took the life of Gordon Taylor. All I have right now is Detroit, 1928.

April 28th, 1928 1:45PM outside Detroit, MI . The book "The First Cub" by Chester L. Peek has a lot more than theTaylorcraft Story on the early years of the Taylor family....
