  • Gone West: Robert H. Taylor

    I have lost five friends in Aviation in the past three weeks. Then on Sat, we learned of the passing of "Bob" Taylor , son of C.G. Taylor. He went peacefully in his sleep after spending a "good" day with family the day before. I will say more soon. I will include the obit from the Alliance Review. WE are going over on Wed to the memorial. "Duke" Iden will fly with me in my BC12D.

        Re: Gone West: Robert H. Taylor

        I think often of what a visionary's certain men are. Not defined by market research or which way the wind doth blow. I think of the American Independent mind that dreams its own dreams and sees its own way. I think of the way we keep each other from those dreams with words like "You can't do that." "Who do you think you are" "No one in their right mind would consider such a thing."

        Lucky for us some people never listen to those words and do what they think best. I have these thoughts every time I fly in a Taylorcraft and marvel at that amazing wing.

        There is a legacy here. There is an appreciation for this independent mind. Owning these little birds expresses it better than words. Go fly today and beat gravity at its own game. Go fly today and do some marveling and join the spirit of the Taylors in the sky.
        With regards and in memorium;

          God Bless all! I have been in touch with the Taylor family, they will all be checking into this site for your comments. Please keep it going to honor C.G. Taylor and his great family. We do have the tape of Bob giving us a lot of memories back in 1974 at the Second Fly-In here in Alliance. It will be copied for all the listen too in the near future. Still mowing and fixing things, bye Forrest
