This airplane arrived at the Auburn/Lewiston Maine airport in the last part of 1946 or early 47.It was one of three bought to start a Taylorcraft dealership in Maine. 44315 44316 and 44317. 44315 still lives in Phillips Maine and sometimes the two are seen together.the first owner, Rodney Linnell, had a nice strip next to the androscoggin river in Peru,Maine. From there,it went to a set of brothers and they used it for instruction and sight seeing. The Ham boys as they were known, did a number of modifications like Fiberglass wings,(that didn't work out so good),installed floats, and "Wings With Springs".Really! These are on it to this day, I get every reaction you can amagine, but to say the least there unique.and STCd.In 1976 My dad and two others purchaced it and made it new again,I learned to fly in it and bought it from my dadin 1991 who had bought out the other guys in the early 80s.I did the 0-200 conversion and recovered it a couple years ago and have really enjoyed it.
Sometimes I think Id like a differant ride, but Ill own her forever.
I think its degrading to call such a Wonderfull airplane a T-cart!
