    Re: Taylorcraft Factory News Updates

Fuel is weight but some special operations require it, back country , fishspotting , oversees ferry, etc... I too believe the 12 in the right wing, 12 in the left wing, maybe even 4 6 gal tanks ( inboard is main tank and outboard are aux tanks.) like we did with Leisa Marie would be good for the standard ship. THEN away we go with two 20's , which really hold 42 gal...WE tanked a ship to go oversees with 53 gal total normal and a 60 gal ferry tank..... she was kind of a hybrid F-19 , F-21 ship.... There are amny possiblities.

The factory should be concerned about which (safe) type of tank design would cause the least amount of redesign or changes to their brand new approved airplane. Putting in any different type of wing structure would be a big mistake in my opinion. A rotomolded tank can now be made to any shape, so it could be designed as a one piece unit that slips into the wing around the drag wires. No re-design of the drag structure, no legal ramifications, no liability risk, no FAA problems. IMHO, there's your winner right there. Two of the plastic tanks can be joined with a hose, and the hose can be inspected/replacedd through a very simple oversize inspection plate.
