  • Can't get a break no matter what I do

2 1/2 years ago I was laid off as a tower crane operator in LV, NV and spent the next 2 years working any job I could find, a day here, 1 week there, mostally covering for other operators, on Jan 2 of this year after workin as a signal person and backup crane operator I had chest pains and drove the 3 hours home and went into the Hospital-I had a blood clot in my arorta and was lucky as hell that they got it out but was out of work until April where I got a tower crane in WV--the 2nd day on the job the local union came to me (this was a nonunion job and a right to work state) and was told that I eigther had to quit or get fined (I joined the union in 06 to help the union out in Las vegas)
well they fined me $3000 and kicked me out of the union just because I was in their area.
Well the job ended up last Thursday and I had a line on a coupla jobs and was looking for atleast 2 weeks off to take care of business and honey do's, I wasn't even home for 3 hours and had a man call me up and told me he needed me in the seat in Ashville today-I was able to put him off until Wednesday but damn I need some what can I say "normal life"--it's a good thing that farts pass through the pants I can't plan anything out.

Unions were a great thing........for about a year. Now, they're just a bunch of BS and corruption. I've had to deal with them on and off and my opinion is that they're about as much at fault for ruining the country as the politicians!
Glad to hear you're at least getting some work, Bird!
I'm so far behind, I think I'm ahead
