When will this "hand-out" generation end? Back to basics.. Mr. Obama...this should be your #1 Goal. Change the attitude, Change the mind set.


............... A teacher speaks

This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we have adult students at the school where I teach who are not US citizens and who get the PELL grant, which is a federal grant (no pay back required) plus other federal grants to go to school?

One student from the Dominican Republic told me that she didn't want me to find a job for her after she finished my program, because she was getting housing from our housing department and she was getting a PELL grant which paid for her total tuition and books, plus money leftover.

She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT CARD for gas to come to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program (check it out - I did) for immigrants and it pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go to school or training. The one student I just mentioned told me she was not going to be a US Citizen because she plans to return to the Dominican Republic someday and that she 'loves HER country.'

I asked her if she felt guilty taking what the US is giving her and then not even bothering to become a citizen and she told me that it doesn't bother her, because that is what the money is there for!

I asked the CARIBE administration about their program and if you ARE a US Citizen, you don't qualify for their program.. And all the while, I am working a full day, my son-in-law works more than 60 hours a week, and everyone in my family works and pays for our education.

Something is wrong here. I am sorry but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close.... Sorry if this offends anyone but this is MY COUNTRY.

IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY SPEAK UP -- please pass this along. I am not against immigration -- just come through like everyone else.

Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Attn: Florida Teacher....Pick up any bio of Teddy Roosevelt and you will see that around 1910 he said words to the effect that ALL immigrants should learn to speak English ASAP! That they should respect our flag and our country or beat it! When the aircraft struck the world trade center, we were told we were "at war", yet the southern border remained WIDE OPEN for eight years! This, inspite of the fact that John McCain, Senator from Arizona could have done alot, yet he did nothing....and STILL says very little about it. (He wants to be reelected!) I have repeatedly sent President Obama E mails saying that the entire boarder should be secured AND that ALL employers should demand proof of citizenship, (which of course would bring all this to an abrupt halt!) Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, had it right. Bush and the current President have it wrong. (Teddy also broke the Wall Street trusts and revamped the entire banking system which had become totally corrupt.... like it is now!) We will have a chance to vote shortly. Its time these corrupt" good ole boys "take a hike.The founding fathers NEVER intended that the Congress should make a career out of Washington. They were meant to serve for a short term and get out! The problem the Teacher describes has gone on for YEARS! It should STOP NOW! jc

If I wasn't mad already about all the 7-11's that we being takin over u really got me going.
You can't find a family operated motel that isn't from India, ( I think the G'ovt gives them money to imigragte and start a business).
When was the last time you spoke to someone that REALLY spoke ENGLISH when you had to deal with the cable company or the phone company.
Now with obummer giving all the money out to "RESTART" the ecomey how many ppl do u see that are from "south of the border" on a job site. NC is over run!
And I don't care what others may think what I just said about obummer, you are probably retired, I am not, and looking for a job for the 2nd year in a row so stick it where the sun doen't shine.

It is amazing how our government works. When i was in school they taught us not to go to making kids as soon as we got out of schoool, and limit the number of children we had ,because we would overpopulate the world. So to incourage this because of our economy we went war in Vietnam and if you were single and no kids like you were told to do, you were sent to Vietnam to be killed to help the economy and the population. If you got married and started making kids, there was a chance they would not send you. If you survived Vietnam and got out and got a good job, single, no kids, they took about 40% of your check. If you were married your tax was discounted and if you were busy making kids, the more you made the more they discounted your tax. Backwards don't you think. If you made more than you could support, we came out with welfare so the working people that was single could keep them with their excessive taxes. Now were are importing people and using tax dollars to keep them. Stupid i think.. Just my thought . Marv
