    Well, it's not a plane, but.........

    1964 Vespa scooter. Sold by Sears as an Allstate. 4 speed transmission. 103 Mpg !!

    It came as a "kit" in 5 cardboard boxes. You can still get every part on the scooter-brand new. It was fun to build, and is fun to drive.

        It's not a kit, it's a real 1964.

        Someone apparently took it apart years ago to rebuild it, but lost interest.

        It was a kit to me.

          I used to own one of those Sears scooters... mine was lime green, as I recall. No helmet, regular commuter speed, great on the wallet but not too good braking, as I remember... kinda like my Taylorcraft, I suppose.
