Father's Day 2007. It was certainly a UFO. My wife and I driving in the 113 degree desert heat both saw it. A metallic and white cigar shaped body, north of I-8 about 3 miles, traveling about 75-80 miles an hour in the same direction and roughly same speed as as our car. It flew at around 1500-2500 AGL and slanted up at an amazing angle, almost like an airplane in landing mode with a very high wing incidence. Of course, I never thought it was a flying saucer... but I'd never seen anything fly like that -- so it was "Unidentified" It was Flying and it was an object -- We drove next to it for at least for the 40 miles. Finally the road jogged enough that the craft flew directly over us... IT WAS AN Bell/Boeing OSPREY.
Probably the "thing" was doing a test hop to check for heating in slow flight mode. Wonderful to see something completely out of the ordinary and new. To have one's curiosity peaked and then richly satisfied. I loved it!!! TO the Marines flying that Space Craft -- "You almost got me." To everybody else... I knew what it was all along and I'm still just half crazy.
