I'd spend $50 on the flying out-takes from that film alone, and throw the rest of the picture in the trash. The Air America website says it was a very poor depiction of what actually went on, but I do believe the film producers hired some old Air America guys to do some of the flying.

Chaplain, your job is saving souls----

Gregory Peck in TWELVE O'CLOCK HIGH. (My war) It depicted the travails of the 100th Bomb Group which was based 6 miles north of us in East Anglia. Very accurate rendition in most respects.

Yep, it's Chief Dan George in Josie Wales. A lot of his lines in Little Big Man come off in similar fashion though.

I knew it sounded familiar, must be time to watch it again.

I didn't actually place it, but could just picture Chief Dan George saying it. I went to an auction that sold a bunch of his personal stuff shortly after he died and bought a few cool items...pictures, posters and what-not.

Here's another from a great western:
"Injun will chase a thing till he thinks he's chased it enough. Then he quits. Same way when he runs. Seems like he never learns there's such a thing as a critter that'll just keep comin' on. So we'll find 'em in the end, I promise you. We'll find 'em. Just as sure as the turnin' of the earth"

                cheers,
                v

One of THE great westerns, John Wayne as Ethan in The Searchers.

Here's one from an obscure, sorta aviation film:

                  "Just look....look at my Dorothy!"

You guys are too good, I may have to go more obscure. In the meanwhile, try:
                    "I can't keep these barges flying forever....I'm a mechanic, not a magician!"

No Ziegel, you are a magician whether you like it or not.
The Blue Max. one of my favorites

Ok try this one: Your theory's fine, but you get this mister..... that engine's rated at two thousand horsepower and if I was ever fool enough to let it get started up it'd shake your patched up pile of junk into a thousand pieces, and cut us up into mincemeat with the propeller.

Excellent! A superb film, far superior to the remake. I'll leave it to someone else to answer this one, but you have excellent taste!

                          OK, I'll go again.

Jimmy Stewart in the original (and so much better) Flight of the Phoenix.

I'm starting to think that I watch waay to many films.

                          How about:

"Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation - nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir."

                            OK:
"I've been to Chatsworth, Santa Cruz, Encino, San Diego, Riverside, Van Nuys and Bakersfield. It's been eight months! Where're my god damn clouds, huh?

I swear I don't just sit at my computer waiting for these questions, but I've been busy on it all day today. That's from Wings, which still has the best aerial dogfight scenes ever filmed....a little creaky on plot though.

One more from me.....this is the tagline from an old flying movie (the original one sheet is hanging on my wall):

"Zooming Thru By Sheer Grit!... To Regain Their Lost Honor... and Lost Love!"
