Missed aproach

Had a very interesting day yesterday morning in the crane near the Charlotte Douglas Airport. Real low clouds and some fog and 6 planes in a row did a missed approach when they popped out of the clouds and all they could see was a big blue crane, it's no fun when you hear the engines spooling up and you really see they were to low.

Bird maybe it is time to change towns, or jobs. LOL To much looking at planes coming at you in the crane could drive you to drinking , chasing women, or both.

I'm thinking that Bird should put a transponder on that crane. Then Approach Control can call him out as traffic.

Reminds me of when an Emery Airfreight DC8 crew had to do a missed approach at Seattle. They pinned all the controllers to the floor of the tower cab.

Couple of pictures, don't think the chute will help though
