It is getting closer to the Osceola Ia. annual Taylorcraft Fly In on Sept 2-3. Several have made their reservations. Things are looking good. The food committee is finalizing plans and recipes. There will be 3 meals on Sunday, --Breakfast, Lunch, and Supper. Taylorcraft pilots will receive a food card when they sign in, that will alllow them to enjoy any one of the 3 meals for free. Blue Mule BBQ will be cooking supper on site, Mighty tasty!
Here are some other items of interest:
Boyt Sporting Goods is providing door prizes, not just one, but several during the day.
There will be live music during supper by RBJ, a trio out of Des Moines that sing 50s 60s and 70s music. You will love them!
Awards will be given out for the Oldest Taylorcraft, the best restored Taylorcraft, and the longest flight. Along with the award we will also be giving out $25 in gas.
Monday there will be a free-will donation breakfast to benefit the local animal shelter. Homemade biscuits and gravy, I think!
Lakeside Casino is only a few miles away, for those who want to enjoy the evening out.
I just about forgot, the Antique Aircraft Association fly in at Blakesburg is that week end, as well (it is only 50mi away) A must see!
Come out to Iowa and have some fun! (check out the details on the Destinations portion of this forum)
