  • Searching for info: NC 48543 (Taylorcraft L-2-65)

Good evening all. I am new to the Taylorcraft forum, so I apologize if I'm posting in the incorrect area.

My grandfather used to own (or co-own) a Taylorcraft, tail NC 48543 and flew it in 1948-1949 according to his logbook. He told me stories of flying it in Northern California and they always amazed me. He has sinced passed away, but I'm trying to track down information regarding this aircraft.

I am currently a military pilot, and fly GA whenever I get the opportunity. I'd really like to track down this aircraft if it still exists. Any ideas on trying to track it down? Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Thumpher

FAA.gov shows that number was assigned to a now deregistered Grumman. Good luck in your search.
1940 BC-65 that needs minor work...

If you can figure out what the serial number is, (Forrest ?), you may be able to search the FAA database that way.
