  • Here's one for ya........

I took these pics up at Birchwood, AK about '97...
    Recognize an L2?

Here's a thread on it over on Supercub.org
Crash can you or some one else give a little insight into what appears to be a T-craft based at Birchwood?

Any of our Alaska guys know this guy or hear how this flies??

Looks like an elementary school science project gone wrong..... my God, it's ugly! I can't help but think those protrusions do nothing but add a terrific amount of drag.

That is an L-2M. I can't make out the N-number. Dick

        Dick,

I tried to make the 'N' numbers out, too, but with no luck. What a waste. Go to the above link for the Supercub forum and it will explain a little further. Has to do with whales and the bumps on their fins, with the thought it makes them go faster through the water.

My thought, if you want to go faster through the air... don't fly a Taylorcraft.
        Cheers,
        Marty

After blowing up the picture it looks like N85183, last digit is really unreadable. But, I ran all the series of N8518 and they all seem to be Aeroncas, with a couple numbers not registered to anything. It is also an experimental, that shows on the Supercub page as well as some really weird bumps on the fuselage side.

I also ran the N9518 series, which has a bunch of BC-12's but no DCO's.

The 85xxx block is almost all Aeronca 7AC's. Dick

El Buteo, a white throated hawk. Cuz, I don't see Taylorcraft in that description.
