Now that's funny right there....As for navigating with an Ipad, I have serious reservations about the Ipad because the thing is so dang big. I have always drawn a magenta line on my sectional or wac. Do they still sell wacs? I read posts from guys seriously complaining about always needing to refold the sectional as the flight proceeds and what a hassle that is. Really? Maybe in an FA-18. I'm 10 years out of current but I'll bet I could find the continuation of my course line on the sectional quicker than you could reprogram your moving map display. The thing that really gets to me about all this electronic navigation is that the next "new deal" always displaces the old deal. I have a Lowrance Airmap 300. It still works. Before that I had a panel mounted Loran. Somehow I always got there and more importantly I avoided IMC along the way by looking outside the airplane. But I can't get any updates on my Lowrance because the memory stick that it uses isn't made any longer. There are airports on that database that have shopping malls on them now. I also have serious reservations about touch screens. My wife has a Kindle Fire. I CANNOT type on the touch screen. My fingers are too big. I have to find an ink pen (remember those?), and use it as a screen key toucher. I can't even imagine doing that in turbulence with the damn thing strapped to my leg. The change in the rate of change has me maxed out.

Well, some good ideas and I am going to study this further but for now likely I will spend some money on the other 3 struts to match the 1 sealed one. I do have a non data base GPS I carry in a holder bolted to the tabs on the windshield brace tubes for a compass as mine is panel mounted. Had a Loran in the Tri Pacer which was good for a lot of years till government cutbacks killed that. I do computer programing in Visual Basic and program PLC's at work so the gadget factor is not an interest. Now if Texaco would just print some new maps we would'nt even need all this electronic stuff.

I put WingX on my HTC Thunderbolt cell phone which is an Android app phone. My hope is that the developer gets the moving map application to work as well on the phone as it does on the Ipad. I talked to him and at least that is what he plans to do. I really don't have an issue buying an Ipad, but why if I have an Android phone? yes the screen is small but I can live with that, it don't cost anything it's already paid for. Anyone use WingX on their Iphone? If so how do you like it?
