  • Searching for a Tcraft

I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for Taylorcraft
N26505. The FAA says 'sale reported' but I believe that may
be old information. Has anyone here had any contact with this ship? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, according to the FAA, the serial is #1846. I'm interested in this ship because my Dad soloed it in 1943 before he joined the Air Corp. I'd love to find it and restore it.

PS. I met you at the Supercub Flyin. My son (third gen. pilot) and I talked to you and your wife when we flew in there to check on the 'wreckage'.

Found out a little more. A Mr. Love and others in Savannah recovered N26505 and sold it to an individual in Jessup, GA in 1987. That person has never registered the aircraft.

The fellow in Savannah could not remember. I've tried to call the Jessup airport, but no answer so far.

I wonder if it went to Canada? Do they have a serial # search?

It doesn't show up on the Canadian website. The guy at the Jessup airport thinks that a Mr Walter Pender has it , so far no answer at his phone number. When I talked to the previous owner in Savannah was on the fourth. My Dad soloed this
Ship on 1/4/42, exactly 70 years before to the day!

I really hope you find it. I found my Dad's first airplane (1946 taylorcraft BC12-D 1 N44334) last year. It has been in a barn for over 20 yrs. It is all disassembled and it looked like it was all there. The owner had bought it for a father son project, that never happened. I really wanted to buy it from him and he said he would sell it. The price was so far out of line that I just couldn't not buy it. I think it is still a dream of his and he just hangs on to it. So I moved on and bought a project ( 1946 Taylorcraft BC12-D N5059M ) It is going to be a father son project that I will never part with. So I know how the owner of my dads first airplane feels. Again I hope you fine your Dad's airplane. Good luck!

I found the t-craft that I owned in high school in 1950. It and one other is in a barn in Texas. I bought them both. I found them by checking with the most recent previous owner because the lastd "sale" was in limbo some where.

                      Lee,

I found the last guy to have it registered but unfortunately calls to the gentleman we think has it now have gone unanswered. I've left a message but no joy so far. I may have to drive to Jesup, GA one weekend.
