  • 1/3 Scale Tcraft Plans

Does anyone know if there are existing plans for a 1/3 scale Tcraft?

I have a set that was drawn by Bob Neiltz. You can purchase a set from Ried's Quality Model Products. They are very scale- actually- too scale for me. Here is a link for the page

Scroll down to the bottom as there are several different plans, including a 1/4 scale Tcraft. The 1/3 scale version is way down at the bottom.

Flying is easy- to go up you pull back, to go down you pull back a little farther.

Thank you Eric. The magazine, High Flight, Vol VI, No. 1, page 26 has a review of Bob Nelitz clipped wing Tcraft. but it did not tell me how to get in touch with him, or how to get a set of the plans.
Your post solved that problem. I am going to order a set of plans tomorrow from the people that you found for me.
Could you expand just a little bit on the comment that the plans were a little bit "to scale" for you.
      thanks, Lee

I am more a flyer than a true scale builder. The Neiltz plans include scale hinges, scale type frise ailerons, functioning landing gear bungies, doors, interior etc. All of these are great for competion in scale events but are not the easiest means of building. I was just looking at the plans and they are impressive- at 1/3 scale it is huge! I would like to put one of the big OS 4 stroke twins or possibly even their 4 cylinder 4 stroke. I have flown and build several 1/4 scale Tcrafts and they perform just like the real ones- fantastic.

Thank you again Eric. The things that you described are exactly what I am looking for. I hope to have the I'Kon NW 1/5 scale to fly while I build the 1/3 scale.

What quarter Scale plans have you used ? I'm currently studying the ones published by Model Aviation (AMA). They are not too bad but need some help to get the shape more correct. Bob Benjamin's T-Craft plans are not longer available. I tried that.

I sent an email to Bob inquiring about the status of his plans. The response was, "Sorry, my wide format plotter has failed and I am unable to fill plans orders now. I'll post a message on the Flightimages site as soon as I am back in shape."
I received this message on Aug 17 so maybe he is back up by now.
I am sorry for the delay in sending this information but I just got back from visiting granddaughters.
