Jack was towing a banner for me with his Huskey back in (1990)? Nice guy and very talented pilot. I've flown the Citabria over at Fallston w/ Duane W. We should start another thread about old local flying haunts. h
Jim and Howard: how about a MD/VA/PA/etc/etc fly-in/get together so we can all get to know & help each other, swap parts, stories, etc... since we all are relatively close.
BTY, there'a s taildraggers fly-in at the flying circus in Warrenton VA tomorrow 10/09 and another one on 10/22. All are invited. Plenty of food, drinks, stories and the show.
Get to gether sounds good. I'm at Fallston (W42) Maryland. I don't think I'd try Virginia with all the traffic problems. I have an Icom thats pretty good but I am nervous about getting in a jam somewhere. Fallston is 2300 feet with grass overrun of about 500 feet. Paved with grass strip beside 04. 100 octane available. It would be great fun to get together and informative. I am also nervous about the Chesapeake bay in recent years, after a fellow I know had a 210 type cessna on floats quit near the Bay Bridge. Landed in the bay with no problems but engine had swallowed something and was toast. Towed to shore, etc. etc. I think its just getting old and nerves are not what they were at 20-40! I'm only ten years older than my airplane! JC
Sounds like a good idea Ralph and Jim. I should have a little more time after October. Frederick is a relatively central place. Good X-wind runways, and easy to drive to. Close to I70 and 270 & 15. It has a great restaurant on the field. And besides it's only 10 minutes from my place. :-) We do have a lot of forum members around our area and could get a good group going.
