Re: TEXAS - Fort Parker Flying Field Fly-in

Finally have a chance to post some photos of the fly-in. The weather turned out to be gorgeous!! This was the first annual fly-in held at Fort Parker Flying Field, hosted by my good friend Jed Keck. There are some photos and videos he posted on his website here. Also, below are a few pictures I took. Two Taylorcrafts in attendance... Our BC12D (N95598) and also Jerry Shelton in his L-2M.

Hey Terry. I don't think I met you at the fly-in, but I'm not sure why not. I was in the 1946 Aeronca Chief that is in your photo under the wing of the Cessna 140. I took a couple of shots of your plane while there.

From the Owner of Fort Parker Flying Field - Jed Keck...

Next weekend (Dec. 10 & 11) is "Christmas At The Fort" and the airstrip is open to all whom
want to come by on either Saturday or Sunday. The airstrip is dry but with
winter here most of the grass is dead (winter rye is still a couple of years
away). No av gas on field but available just 5 miles North at Mexia KXLY

I have not much to offer you other than fly-in and attend the festivities. My
funds available for airfield ops during the event are being directed to a hot
air balloon glow from 5:30pm until 6:30pm Saturday and a possible launch with
rides for sale at sunrise Sunday morning. Weather dependent and can be cancelled
          last minute.

If the weather cooporates and you can make it by air please do so, or drive in!
It would be good to see you and pass the word to others!
