If you're at your computer with a few minutes of idle time try www.flightaware.com. go to the live tracking menu and select browse by aircraft type. This will bring up a majority of the aircraft airborne on an IFR flight plan or using flight following.
While on a coffee break this morning we took a look and found the following:
The CAF's B29 Fifi on the way from Addison to Lincoln, Ne.
Three Convair 580's heading to South America from Miami.
Two Air Tractor Ag planes also heading south.,
C-46, Lockheed 12, Helio U10 Super Courier, DC-6 heading to various destinations.
Buiffalo Airways (of Ice Pilot's fame) DC-3 leaving Baffin Island and heading to Greenland. Their Lockheed Electra was entroute to Resolute from Yellowknife.
I'm amazed at the number of old freighters still flying and the number of Air Tractors, Thrush Commanders, and other ag planes heading to South America and Europe.
