  • Anyone near Ringgold VA?

This guy has a bunch of pre-war stuff http://www.barnstormers.com/classifi...lus+Parts.html.

Unfortunately he won't ship or part it out. I would like to buy some parts but I'm out in Utah and I definitely don't need everything. If anyone else near there could use some parts then I would be happy to chip in.

I'm gonna be close (3hours) away from him, the parts he has are all prewar, but I will not be able to get there until next Sat., maybe next Fri depending if I have to pour some concrete on Fri.
He told me that everything could be hauled with my Avalanche 1 trip although he sounded a little unsure of the total amount of what he had.
So if you want me to make the trip or are interested give me a call 704 905 6727 between 8 and 9 pm eastern, I'll be in the crane before that and really unable to talk long if at all during the day.

I definitely wouldn't want to make you drive three hours unless you needed some parts as well. He didn't know for sure what he had, but he did say he had a pre-war instrument panel (without the tach, unfortunately), which I would like to have.

        Re: Anyone near Ringgold VA?

Well I stopped by the guy's house and checked out what he had, 2 spars-1 front and 1 rear--they looked okay, 2 front struts 1 painted 1 weathered type of condition, 1 new tire (size not checked) 1 right hand wing tank--looked good-with cap, 1 landing gear that had a piece of angle iron welded to 1 leg (kinda like someone groundlooped and bent the member and this was a repair to get home) 2 1/2 alerions but these or the pieces did look to be in good condition or atleast good enough to rebuild, and a box of misc. parts-mostally small sheet metal-some lycoming eng parts (condition or model unknown) some wing componets and a face panel for the instrument panel-it had 2 openings for glove boxes and 5? openings for instruments-all small instruments-but the panel wasn't what anyone would put in any plane, it had several small cracks radiating out from each instrument hole through the mounting screw holes (4 for each instrument).
He only wanted to sell all or none, and quite frankly I already have enough trash--maybe if the price was lower I would have taken it. He said a couple of times that this stuff wasn't being made anymore and it would be good STUFF for swappin,--well thats all I can say.

Thanks for checking that out. When I talked to him on the phone he made it sound like most of the stuff was in great shape. I think what I'll end up doing is getting a new panel and overlay from Ken.
