  • NC22207 - Looking for Historical Info

Here's a picture of our BC65 taken last Sunday, Reg. No. NC22207, ser. no. 1145.

We're looking for historical information/pictures of this plane which spent most of its days in Pennsylvania. FAA data shows it was owned by Ms. Joan Diehl-Heinz in 1939.

    one sweet ship

It's nice to see a ship that's older than mine, I hope that whoever owns her keeps her in the sky. By the way, does anyone in the group own an A model? Are there any still flying?

      keepin 'er flying

The airplane is owned by my father-in-law...Lon Carr. He and I have put almost 50 hours on the airplane since October. Lon is getting close to being ready for solo..... working toward pilots license... finally found a tailwheel instructor. Ive been flying with him...but not an instructor. We've had a few minor maintenance items...nothing major. The plan is to keep 'er flying.

There has been an A model at the past two Taylorcraft Rendezvous'. I don't know who owns it.

          Terry,
Juptner's book lists 22207 as starting out with a Franklin engine. The .s.n is only 15 higher than my BL 20442 - 1130. When did it come out of the factory? mid-January '39? Howard

            Howard..
Thanks for the reply. You are correct. The earliest paperwork I have is from January 5, 1939. It did have a Franklin engine until sometime in 1950s. I was hoping that someone on the list might have a picture of this airplane with the Franklin engine installed.... or other pictures.

                      "A" models

You guys sound like you have or will have some fine ships flying. I'm flying six to eight hours a week on my BC-65 and loving it.
