I'm on my 3rd bonnet (hood)... I think the originals were made out of ME109s fished out of the river which somehow over time turns in to bondo and pop rivets.
Thank god it leaks oil properly so I dont have to open the bonnet to check it.

tcraft, That looks like a nice 1600 mark1 Iris Blue? identical to mine! An Italian owned my car many many years ago and I think he threw a mixture of chip pan oil and tar underneath the car and what with what it leaks naturally from the crank throw back washer it has done an excellent job of anti corrosion, resulting in one of the best MGA's in the UK which has never been restored! Sod of a job cleaning the tar / oil mixture of you when you work underneath the car though! Can't work out why I never get invited to friends houses who have those posh brick drives or at least when I go there never get invited back!
