    Re: Sun-N-Fun

Just back from Sun-n-Fun, they did a near miracle clean up job. I think the biggest crowds I have ever seen there today. Perfect blue skies and around 80. The Raptor and the Blues were just great, its an awesume venue.

      Re: Sun-N-Fun

Hey Gang...well, dad and I were hunkered down in a hangar when the big storm (tornado) rolled over us. It was sad to see all the damaged/destroyed airplanes, but I got especially nauseous and 'teary' when I saw the L-2 on this web-site. The day before the storm I was strolling through the vintage camping area and happened upon the L-2. There were two other guys looking her over and we laghed together when we saw a very LARGE grasshopper crawling around in the "greenhouse" area in the back of the cabin. We found it humorous and ironic that this Grasshopper came with it's own grasshopper! It just makes me sick to see her severely damaged by this terrible storm. Sorry we weren't able to connect at the show. Maybe next year one of us (or me?) can pony up for a table in the Type Club Tent and then we will have a place to gather and communicate. I do think our aircraft is at least as worthy as the Luscombes, Ercoupes, and Cardinals!

Sorry about missing anyone at the show and especially about the damaged L-2. I hope she can be fixed and flying again soon.

I happy to be back home in a place where there has NEVER been a tornado!

      Jim

This airplane has a CAP STC engine conversion to C85-12 with Starter and Electrical system. I hope Mark can get her back on her feet.
That PA-12 in the back ground of the L-2 is owned by Mark Zanger from New York, I couldn't find a scratch on it, a friend flew it to So. Dakota to do some work on the fuel tanks, O.t.
