Disc Brakes

Was just wondering of anyone had ever considered the disc brakes off of mountain bikes.

I know they aren't certified but there appear to be some lightweight possibilities

I'm not sure they would hold up to braking a 1200lb airplane. Both Cleveland and Grove make some good brake systems.

I just finished doing grove disk brakes on my tcraft and when we did the weight and balance i only gained 4 LBS over the shinns and the plane WILL STOP IN 300 FT or less with out any trouble or adverse happenings Chuck

Okay, I had just noticed that a kitplane ultralight had started to use some and was just wondering.
