I was pretty optomistic when I uncovered the right wing and found it in pretty good shape. I just unwrapped the left wing and well, it seems the mice had quite a few parties in there. This looks like new spars amongst other things. I think the steel parts are mostly OK. There's a few ribs that are pretty badly corroded, but not too many. Oh well, something to keep me off the streets for a while.

The guys always get a kick out of watching me stick my nose up into the inspection plates and get a good whiff! My Dad taught me that one.Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc

Re: Looks like a wing rebuild
Just wait until you take the leading edge off. The guy that last had my 41 stored the wings in a semi open hanger leading edge down(typical) and in typical fashion forgot about em. They did keep the mice out (perhaps a snake? ) any way took off the leading edge and its corrosion city.

Re: Looks like a wing rebuild
I have a hangar surrounded by farm fields, mice and occasonial rat find there way in, i keep mouse traps and rat traps baited at all times and get quite a few. The traping never ends. One guy i know had groundhogs or wood chuck, what ever you like to call em, and i traped those too. Holes everywhere in his hangar. Plenty of critters around to keep ya on the look out. Pidgeons are really bad news, dirt like ya wouldn't believe. Jim l
