  • fly in at bear lake seward ak

    hey ak tribesman et al.

back from the boat. Looking for a new job. this boat stuff wastes my time. out to sea is getting OLD....so i am starting a fly in B&B here in seward on the lake (I suppose one could drive as well, but what fun would that be)....any ideas would be very welcomed!
BEAR LAKE LODGINGS...tell your pals please!
Starting to take bookings for grand opening in September.

To start off right with you guys, I would like to open the place up to the fly in I promised for the second weekend in september..11 and 12th.
I have lots of room for tents, a hot tub, and even a few rocking chairs on the porch. As Lance knows, some real good moose hunting not more than fifteen minutes from bear lake.

Lets get together before the snow falls.
I would do it earlier, but i have to sail for the month of august....bummer!
    It's ON!

    Fly-in

The fly-in for Sept. sounds good, Dan. I'll plan to be there. It sounds like you've been working hard on getting things together. Hope we still have some of this warm sun still around when that weekend gets here. Steve Long.

      bear lake

      Hey steve.

Great! Glad to have one at least. Bet we get a few more as time approaches, hopefully at least four.

Getting ready to head out to sea, so this is it....Sept 11 and 12, plenty of sunshine I hope.

I will be in contact again at the end of aufust for the rest of your questions.

I have plenty of space, aircraft services, (floats), wheels at the airport for those, like myself, still stuck on wheels, and plenty of hot water.

      See you in Sept.

Cold day in the Far North!

Some days are better than others...the WX here in Alaska has been gorgeous recently. Just got to spend several days under Dave Wiley's tutelage in Oswego, OR, working through his seaplane course...well worth the extra travel. He and Paul Crowley certainly helped me. This picture was taken yesterday about 65 miles northeast of Kenai. Steve Long and Jim and Suzan Hartley were waiting at the "right" spot, about 8 miles away, while my wife and I were at the "wrong" spot...but still a beautiful day to be out flying. Dick

            Rain Check

            Hey all.

I was putting in some more trees at my place, (like it needs more trees) and a tcraft came over head. Turns out Jim Hartley and his wife Sue stopped by for a visit...thanks for making it over Jim. Too bad we didnt have more time for some cheese and wine heh?

I am having to postpone the fly in here in Seward due to Medical reasons......but next summer or better this winter/Spring for the ski heads. According to Jim, you guys are excited about coming over. Your more than welcome to pop on by....Just look for the roof by bear lake that says FREE BEER.

Still looking for a float plane MATSUTHUNDER. If your guy gives it up, I want it.

Cheers. Oh, and the tcraft took the annual Seward Strip Shortfield takeoff, but I overshot the short field landing. way to go tcraft.

              Hi Dan,

We'll look forward to the fly-in next Spring or summer. Hope the medical problems aren't serious. When do you think your B&B will open for business? My wife and I are always looking for a new place to stay in Seward. That Hartley guy gets around doesn't he? Take care. Steve.
