  • Wag-Aero , Aero Fabricators

This will go into newsletter ASAP . I have been waiting for this for a while. A few moons back , Bill Read worked with me and Tom Oneill at Wag-Aero to build approved parts for our fleet of Taylorcrafts. It is coming to fruition finally. Here is first Press release , hopefully followed by more and then lots of stuff at Sun-N-Fun. Gee , maybe they can do my whole list of stuff , how about Spars?? I think THAT WILL happen. Bill & Tom will get back with me next week for more information.

    Re: Wag-Aero , Aero Fabricators

I'm sure it's good news for owners and restorers to see Aero Fabricators making these pieces. But ONLY THE FAA would approve the right-hand elevator, and not the so-similar left-hand elevator, manufactured of the same materials in the same manner. And probably some apparatchik would provide a reason why that approval isn't forthcoming at the same time, because of... (???)

I will maintain there is no rocket science involved in the manufacture, materials used, and operation of the trim mechanism in a Taylorcraft BC12-D elevator that should delay Parts Manufacturing Approval of the left side elevator.

But, Paul....there are extra parts there the other side doesn't have. They have to do a study of a study to approve the study of the extra parts. Government at its finest.....

Lets not beat up on people!! I know that they will get many more approvals, I merely wanted to let our tribe know that this is happening. i will be back in the drawings today , seeing what I can do to help. The "approval" process is not an easy thing. Remember the F-19 was held up for one drawing. The noise study for the F-21 was delayed 6 months till we found a person that came here to Alliance and did the whole thing in two days. I flew the ship , he did the measurements. He knew what he was doing. There are other factors too! It is called business.

Just enjoying my right to free speach and pointing out government bureaucracy. That's all, Forrest. I'm not picking on Wag-Aero if that is what you perceived. Even you know how inane governemnt can sometimes be... You were a government worker once, (like me).

PS I am still awating responses to all of my e-mails to you.... Thanks!!!
              Cheers,
              Marty

Dittos on ragging on the government bureaucracy! I am glad someone is willing to negotiate the tortuous path to supplying approved replacement parts! I tend to be not patient enough, and have an inherent dislike for bureaucracy and apparatchiks.

You are preaching to the choir! I have been there and done that! Now they want me back in a advisory capacity.
I say just buy 1920 acres north of Alliance and start over again. Kind of like what they need to do around Detroit .
Remember what the Alliance Village Marshall said as he walked out the door in 1852 as he quit after two days on the job..... screw this place it will never work!

I have been very frustrated with many people who think they do it better but show me the results and I will agree with them . CALL me sometime, I am at airport now 330.823.1168 .
