  • Wings On!

I finished the wings before I ran out of money and time, but headed south to be with my husband, find a job, and unpack my household before I got them on. A good friend who helped with some of the work called Wednesday night - my IA was having a wing-raising party, and I got a blow-by-blow account as the wings went on.

This year, I'm determined. She will fly again!

Love that yellow. Be able to see that plane 20 miles away. I painted my wheels that color, or close. Friend said while flying formation, "Man you really can see those wheels!"
Congrats on the wings going on, keep it up, pretty soon airborne.

                  Re: Wings On!

Thanks, everyone! After several years of work, it's amazing to see her looking like a plane! I must admit - I got Dan's Aircraft Repair on Merrill to do the final painting. My IA didn't want me to paint in his hangar, and I wanted someone who could make her look as beautiful outside as she does inside. With luck, I'll land something that'll let me build enough money and get enough time off to fly her south this summer. If not, I'll figure out a way to get her here sooner or later!

Ralph, the rectangles are indeed gas tanks - I rebuilt the wings with metal tank covers that aren't on yet.

Forrest, she's up in Anchorage, and I'm down in Nashville. technically, I moved here after marrying my husband, but I spent Apr-Dec back up in Alaska, trying to get her together to fly south.
